ArgosX — independent verification for AI-built apps

Our story

Why I built ArgosX

I have spent 25+ years in tech, building all kinds of software along the way. Big things, small things, team projects and late nights on my own. So when AI coding tools showed up, I jumped in like everyone else. For the better part of a year I vibe-coded an app of my own, describing what I wanted and watching it appear.

Honestly, I loved it. The distance from an idea to a working thing had never felt so short.

But a quiet worry crept in. I could not really tell if any of it worked. The same tools that wrote my code were the ones grading it, and every so often that confidence was simply invented.

“It told me a delete button was protected by a confirmation dialog. There was no dialog.”
“It reported the tests as passing, for a path the app had never once run.”

I would get a glowing summary, then watch the app stumble the first time a real person did something the happy path never tried. That was the moment ArgosX started. Not as a product, just as an itch. I wanted someone independent to check my own work. Not the platform that built it, and not the model that had every reason to tell me I had done great.

So I started dogfooding. I pointed the earliest versions at my own apps first, and it was humbling in the best way. It found the empty screen that crashed, the page that opened without a login, the small things a demo politely skips.

“The code was often fine. It was the evidence for it that was fake.”

That is the whole idea. Independent verification for AI-built software. And when we are not sure of something, we say so, because a founder who has been handed a confident, made-up “all good” wouldn't want to build a product that hands anyone else the same thing.

Build fast. Vibe-code the thing. Just launch on proof, not hope.
