A v0 app can absolutely be safe, but v0 designs the interface far more completely than it secures the backend. The generated Next.js code looks production-ready, which is the trap: a route handler or server action may run without checking who's asking, and any environment variable named with the NEXT_PUBLIC_ prefix is shipped to the browser. If your app talks to Supabase, the same Row-Level Security rule applies.

Is v0 by Vercel safe to launch with?
Yes, once you've secured the backend it generates. v0 excels at the UI and produces clean Next.js, but env-var handling, database policies and per-endpoint auth are yours to verify. Why is my v0 API key showing up in the browser?
Almost always because it's in a NEXT_PUBLIC_ environment variable. Next.js deliberately inlines any variable with that prefix into the client bundle so browser code can read it, which means a private key there is exposed to everyone. Move secrets to server-only variables (no NEXT_PUBLIC_ prefix) and read them only in server code. ArgosX flags a real private key if it finds one served to the browser.

What's the most common way AI-built apps get hacked?
An exposed database. Tools like Supabase, Firebase and Base44 need Row-Level Security switched on and configured per table. When it's missing — which is the default in many quickstarts — anyone can download your entire users table using the public key that's already in your page source.
